I’ll be attending the Romance Writers’ of Australia conference in Brisbane over the weekend of 11-13th August. My book The War Bride has been shortlisted for Romance Book of the Year (Long form) – it’s called the Ruby Award and it’s very exciting! So if you’re going to the conference, look out for me.

I’ll also be at the conference bookshop (Dymock’s) on the Saturday morning at about 10.30 – I’m sure Dymock’s won’t mind if you come and spend money then, even if you’re not at the conference! And I’ll be happy to sign any books you have.

On Monday, 4th September, I’ll be at the Lake Macquarie History Festival (at Toronto Library at 11am), on a panel about the Romance of History. Come along and join us!

On 8th-10th September, I’ll be in Melbourne at the Historical Novels Society of Australia Conference. I believe you can get day passes, so come along on the Sunday and see me on a panel about whether historical novels need to be historically accurate.

And on the weekend of 14th September, I’ll be at the New England Writers’ Centre in Armidale for a great weekend: Sorcery to Spaceships – where I’ll be putting on my fantasy hat as Pamela Freeman.

       Busy times ahead!

Recently I spoke with Tony Arthur on ABC Overnights about the challenges of writing historical fiction.  You can listen to the podcast here.

And if you want to learn more about writing:

I teach at the Australian Writers Centre – and I teach both face-to-face and online. I particularly enjoys taking absolute beginners from their very first try at writing all the way through to a finished novel. Of course, there I’m known as Pamela Freeman.
